You can use the search field at the top of the screen to type in the title of a product, an author's name, or the first six digits of a stock number.
If you are not sure of the title, or just want to search by general topic, you can search by product type, keywords, or topics. Please click the "Advanced Search" and follow the instructions on that page.
Browse the ASCD Online Store. When you find something you'd like to purchase, click on the "Add to Cart" button. When you are done, proceed to check out and follow the steps for your payment and shipping options.
The shopping carts are designed to help you keep track of what you'd like to purchase. You can view the products in your shopping cart, removing and adding items as you please. The carts are a service to help you organize your shopping and track the cost of your items.
We accept credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We also accept purchase orders online, only if you are logged in and have previously used purchase orders when ordering from ASCD. If you have an item you would like to purchase via check, please download our PDF order form and mail it in with your check.

ASCD assesses and remits a Goods and Services Tax (GST), at a rate of 5%, from Canadian members and customers. Canadian members and customers are responsible for any additional taxes, duties or fees. All members and customers outside the US and Canada may also be subject to GST/VAT, to be charged when the order is delivered. All International taxes, duties, and fees are the responsibility of the customer; the international rate charged is dependent upon individual country tax rates.
It's easy to ensure member pricing for your online orders. Just log in to the Online Store with your current membership number and password before placing your order.

We recommend that you don't use "bookmarks" or "favorites" to navigate the Online Store.
Each time you shop, you're assigned an identifying number so the system knows what's in your cart. This number is only temporary, keeping track of the items in your cart until you check out, or until you leave the Online Store to browse a Web page or site not part of the Store. Then that identifier disappears. The next time you shop, the process starts over and you are assigned another random number for that cart and that visit.
Your shopping cart may have timed out. If your cart has been idle for 2 hours, you will be timed out and your cart will be emptied.
Using multiple browser windows to navigate the store, refreshing
your screen, using bookmarks, and using the back button may also cause
some unexpected shopping cart changes. We recommend that you use one
browser window while shopping and use the tabs and search functions to
navigate through the store.
The Building Academic Vocabulary website contains vocabulary lists in all content areas and grade levels. This website provides a process for prioritizing words, as well as allowing you to download customized word lists.
Access to the Building Academic Vocabulary website requires a basic account set-up, which will be processed using the information listed on your online order. Once your account has been set-up, we will send a confirmation e-mail to the address you provided with your purchase. This e-mail will include all the information you need to access your account and will be sent within 3 business days after ordering..
You will receive an access key and key activation password immediately after purchasing. This information will be located on your online acknowledgement page.
A separate email confirmation will also be sent with this information.
Immediately after submitting your order you may download your purchased products via a link on the order confirmation page. Even if you don't get your downloads right away, you can access your download purchases at any time for 45 days, either by clicking on the "Purchased Downloads" link on the left-hand side of any page in the Online Store or by logging into MyASCD at my.ascd.org.
The download process is handled directly through your browser and does not require the purchase of any additional, third-party software. See the sections below for specific download instructions for each media type.
Topic Packs and some of the other downloads are packaged as .zip files and will require an extraction program such as WinZip, WinRar, or the built-in functionality of Windows XP and Vista to access all the files. You may download shareware versions of these programs from CNET.com (http://www.download.com).
1. Click on the file you wish to download.
2. Save the file to your hard drive.
3. Once the download is complete, please select Open.
4. Do one of the following:
1) To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location.
2) To extract all files or folders, right-click the compressed folder and then click Extract All. In the Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard, specify where you want to store the extracted files. If you choose the option to extract all files the Extraction Wizard will help you through this process.
Please Note: For best results, we suggest extracting all files.
