Building on ASCD's video series,
Differentiating Instruction and
At Work in the Differentiated Classroom, this series helps teachers who already have some experience with differentiation learn how to plan and use seven strategies that support a differentiated classroom.
This DVD includes programs five through seven in the series:
- RAFT Assignments shows how offering different writing assignments designed for students' varied readiness levels and interests helps students to focus on writing and reasoning while coming to understand ideas essential to a topic.
- Centers demonstrates how to address students' different needs by offering multiple tasks, addressing learning standards at varied levels of difficulty, and designing learning activities around students' varied interests.
- WebQuests models how to guide students on an inquiry-based activity where they investigate resources on the Internet and produce a product.
Scenes from elementary, middle, and high school classes demonstrate how and why the strategies are used. Support the implementation of differentiated instruction in your school by showing these videotapes in your upcoming professional development workshops.
